Robert H. Manier, Jr., known affectionately as Rob to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on October 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 10, 1954, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Rob was the cherished only son of the late Mary and Robert Manier, Sr. His early years were marked by the loss of his father when he was just five, but he was lovingly raised by his mother and his devoted stepfather, Frank Corner.
Rob's life was one of steadfast dedication to his family, work, and passions. He shared 23 beautiful years with his beloved wife, Denise, and was a treasured brother to 4 sisters: Judith and Neil Land, Linda and Tom Baker, Carol and Mike Essenburg, and Cheryl and Carl Miller. His role as an uncle was one he embraced with joy, endearing himself to his many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He had an especially close bond with his great-nephew Patrick Gardner.
In Indiana, Rob's strong work ethic was evident from the start. He began his career as a driver for 7-Up before channeling his entrepreneurial spirit into founding Executive Lawn Care in Fort Wayne. His commitment to excellence and service was a hallmark of his business. In 2000, Rob moved to Leonardo, New Jersey, where he continued to apply his industrious nature at Lowes in Holmdel. His colleagues there will remember him not just for his hard work but also for his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Rob's interests were a reflection of his vibrant spirit. An avid golfer, he found peace and camaraderie on the greens. His love for sports extended to being a fervent supporter of the Indiana University Basketball team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the NY Yankees. His enthusiasm for his teams was infectious, and many will recall the lively discussions and friendly debates that were sparked by his passion.
Those who knew Rob will remember him as the epitome of kindness, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. He was the person you could count on or offer a word of encouragement. His loving nature was the foundation upon which he built his life, and it was reflected in the warmth and care he showed to everyone around him.
As we say goodbye to Robert H. Manier, Jr., we celebrate a well-lived life, a journey marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who loved him, and his story will be told with fondness for generations to come.
Please join his family at a graveside service on Friday, October 24 at 11 am at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
