Brian P. Hayes, Sr. a cherished soul known for his friendly demeanor and courageous spirit
passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 57. Or on Feb 10, 1968, in Red Bank New
Jersey Binky was the beloved son of Patrick "Mickey" Hayes and Lorraine Hayes. He was
raised in the West Keansburg section of Hazlet and spent his entire life in the Bayshore area
where he touched the lives of many with his vibrant personality.
Binky's life was marked by his dedication to his family, work and passions. He is survived by
his wife Clorinda Hayes, Sons- Brian Hayes & Patrick Hayes, and his Stepsons Thomas
Maldonado & Matthew Zentz. Four Grandchildren- Skylar, Avery, Thomas Jr. & Samantha.
His siblings; Brother- Dr. Michael Hayes and his wife Timmie Hayes of Lexington SC
Sister- Susan Hayes and her partner Steven Wolf of Union Beach NJ, Brother- William Hayes and
his Wife Laura Hayes of Howell NJ. His recent partner Andrea Copp and her children
Matthew Copp & Timothy Copp. His extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews and life
long dear friends whom all will cherish the memories they shared with Binky. Binky was
forever grateful to his uncle Joe Hayes who broke him into the Ironworking Business as his
mentor.
A proud graduate of Raritan High School Class of 1986, Binky began his Stone Derrickman
Ironworking career at Local 197 NYC during the summer in High School. His dedication to
the craft was evident with his long-standing membership in the union from 1985 until his
retirement in 2010. Binky's hard work ethic and dedication helped build the iconic NYC
skyline.
Binky's interests were diverse as they were passionate. He was truly a sports enthusiast,
growing up he played hockey in Middletown and Hazlet, Football, and Baseball for many
years in HYAL and school. He also Boxed at the Middletown PBA in his early teenage years.
He was a big NY Giants, NY Yankees and NY Rangers fan. He enjoyed coaching the kids in
Pop-Warner in Keansburg and Hazlet for many years as well.
Friends and Family may pay their respects on Sunday, February 8th from 1-5pm and again
on Monday from 10am-11am at Scott & Kedz Home for Funerals. The Funeral Service will
take place at 11am at the funeral home and the Burial and Committal will immediately
follow at Bayview Cemetery in Leonardo.
