Trina Lee Cornett, 67, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at her home.
Trina was born on May 2, 1958, in Red Bank, NJ, to Lucy McManus-Cornett and Daniel Cornett. She was a graduate of Raritan High School, where she was a standout athlete in both basketball and track and field. Her athletic accomplishments earned her a place in the Raritan High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Following high school, Trina pursued a career with the Department of Motor Vehicles as a driving instructor for over 25 years.
Outside of work, Trina was passionate about gardening, barbecuing, and spending time with her family and close friends. She loved to rock ’n’ roll, hanging at VFW Post 4303, and visiting Monmouth Racetrack.
Trina is survived by her siblings, Susan Blanthorn; Daniel Cornett and his wife, Wanda; and Guy K. Cornett. She is also survived by her nephew, Guy K. Cornett Jr. and his wife, Donna; and two nieces, Jacqueline D. Frescki and her husband, Christopher; and Dena Lee Parker and her husband, Brendan.
She was predeceased by her parents, Lucy and Daniel Cornett; her siblings, George Amadio, Francis Cornett, Francine Cornett, and John “Butchie” Cornett; her sister-in-law, Margaret D. Cornett; and her beloved dog, Suzy, and cat, Baby.
Trina will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
