It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Eric J. McConnell, a beloved husband, father, son, and brother, who left us on August 15, 2025 at the young age of 36. He was born on October 25, 1988 in Anderson, IN.
Eric, a proud member of the McConnell family business, dedicated his life to his work at McConnell Plumbing, where he was not only a talented technician but also a source of joy and motivation for his colleagues and clients alike.
Eric was known for his remarkable ability to fix anything and everything, A master of many, Eric brought skill, heart, and a helping hand to every task, leaving behind a legacy built with love and know how.
Outside of work, Eric cherished the simple pleasures of life. He found immense joy in riding his bicycles and motorcycles, adventuring in the outdoors, sharing his love for music, and creating lasting memories with his family and friends. Many weekends were spent sharing the smokey gifts of his grill where laughter and love were the main ingredients shared among loved ones.
Eric is survived by his devoted wife, Emily (Holcomb) McConnell; his children, Wyatt Dwiggins, Emery McConnell, and Pepper McConnell; his parents, Eric Charles and Donna (Tyson) McConnell; sister, Laura McConnell; in-laws, Scott (Mardy) Holcomb; sister and brother-in-law, Alaina (Nathan) Stephens; and niece, Hadley Stephens.
In honoring Eric's memory, a visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bozell Funeral Homes-Lapel Chapel, 1010 N. Main St. Lapel, Indiana 46051. A celebration of life will immediately follow at the funeral home. We invite those who knew him to join us in celebrating his life, sharing cherished memories, and supporting each other during this difficult time.
Memorial contributions in Eric's name may be gifted to the funeral home for the family to establish a memorial scholarship for Eric's three children, Wyatt, Emery, and Pepper.
Eric's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes.
