Celebrating the Life of Eric Merosier
December 14, 1979 – April 18, 2025
Born in: Brooklyn, NY
Resided in: Melbourne, Florida

It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for his life that we share the passing of Eric Merosier. Though his departure was sudden and unexpected, his impact on those who knew and loved him will be felt forever. Born in Brooklyn, NY but lived out most of his life in Melbourne, Florida, Eric was unapologetically himself-outspoken, passionate, and never afraid to speak his mind, usually with a grin and a sense of humor that could make anyone smile with him. If you knew him, you knew he was the kind of person who lit up a room-whether through his honesty, his laughter, or just the way he threw himself wholeheartedly into every conversation, even the loud ones-"That's just how I speak," he'd say with a smile. Eric had a huge heart, and at the center of it were his daughters, Mya and Kendra. He was fiercely protective of them-his love for them was steady, deep, and unmistakable. Some of his favorite moments were simple ones: taking them out to dinner, catching the latest movie together, or just hanging out, being silly, and laughing until it hurt. They weren't just his kids-they were his joy, his pride, his world.

He was a big kid at heart, with a deep love for things that brought him joy and sparked his imagination-The Nightmare Before Christmas, comic books, Funko Pops, action figures, and especially horror, action and sci- fi movies. His collections weren't just things-they were a reflection of who he was: a storyteller, a dreamer, someone who loved characters with heart, grit, and humor (just like him). Eric worked in appliance installation and repair-he was the guy you called when something broke, and the one who actually showed up and fixed it. He was always willing to lend a hand, without needing a reason, and gave generously to anyone in need. Family meant everything to him, and not just the one he was born into. He had two brothers, and his loyalty extended far beyond the boundaries of blood. To some, he might have seemed quiet and stoic-but those who really knew him got to see the goofy, kind, and deeply loving man he truly was. He lived with authenticity, laughed often, and loved without holding back.

Eric is survived by his daughters, Mya Merosier and Kendra Merosier. His mother Nicole Merosier and brothers Patrick Merosier and Joey Merosier; His sister Valerie Merosier and sister-in-laws, Maurelhena Walles and Aida Latorre; Aunts Yolette Jean-Bart and Lodz Jean Jacques; Uncle Frankie Jean-Bart; and Friend and Mother of Mya and Kendra, Becca Ortega. He also leaves several close cousins, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Jerry Merosier.

A service will be held this Friday, April 25, 2025 for anyone who wishes to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Eric. The service will be held at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home, 1010 E. Palmetto Avenue, Melbourne, Florida 32901. Viewing for friends will be at 5:30 pm. His service will begin at 6 pm.
