Eric Michael Moore, age 47, of Marion, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Marion General Hospital following a sudden bout with pneumonia and years of struggle with kidney disease.
He was born on December 17, 1977 in Marion, Ohio. Eric had worked in the finance department with Lupica Motors and as a manager with Perkins Restaurant in Marion. His life centered on caring for the needs of his family. Known for his caring heart, he always put the needs of others before his own, a trait for which he will long be remembered.
Eric loved to swim, cook, and go on vacations with his family. Simply put, to enjoy life.
Unique in every way, he was one of a kind. There was nobody like Eric. He was full of silent strength and quiet compassion, always with a calming presence. Humble and kind, his actions spoke louder than words, traits for which he became loved by all.
The world is better place because of Eric and he leaves a lasting legacy in his beloved girls, of whom he was most proud.
Those left to cherish his memory, include his fiancé, Sara Simpkins; daughters, Emerson and Scout, and their mother Melissa, step-son, Morgan; mother and step-father, Deanna (Scott) Childers; sister, Kristen (Bill) House; nephews: Riley Miller, Hunter Charles, Austin Fogle, and Mady Fogle, as well as a host of friends and Perkin's associates.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Jack and Charlene Slone, and great-grandparents Adrian and Ruby Kidd.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, September 8th, at 531 Bellefontaine Ave., Marion, Ohio 43302 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until sundown. Please come and share a favorite memory or two.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Snyder Funeral Center in Delaware.
