Eric Pfaffenberger

Eric Pfaffenberger, 58, beat cancer by becoming an angel on October 6, 2025. He passed peacefully in Midlothian, Virginia, surrounded by his devoted family and loved ones.

Eric was a beloved husband, proud father of three, adoring grandfather of two, cherished brother, uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law, great-uncle, loyal friend, and respected colleague. His presence lit up every room-his humor, generosity, and tireless work ethic left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He found joy in the simple things: spending time with family and friends, rocking out to 80s music, savoring good bourbon, and diving into work with passion and pride.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Magdalena. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years and high school sweetheart, Sandy; their children, Alexa (Austin), Max (Faith Ann), and Zach (Kristin); grandchildren, Eric and Silas; and his siblings Linda, Tom, Frank, Noreen, Diane, Anthony, Richard, and Lisa. He also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of nieces and nephews: Anthony, Michael, Billy, Joey, Frank Jr., Kurt, Joe, Tony (AJ), Andrew, Tiffany, Haley, and Hudson.

Eric fought cancer with unwavering courage for over four years. He longed to witness his sons' weddings and meet future grandchildren-dreams he held close to his heart. His greatest purpose in life was caring for his wife and children, and he did so with unmatched devotion.

To honor Eric's memory, live as he did: be kind to strangers, lift others up, smile often, stay positive through adversity, and cherish the life you've been given. Eric would have given anything for more time-let his legacy remind us to make the most of ours.
