Eric Martin Rodey, born on October 19, 1972, in Harbor Hospital Baltimore, Maryland, passed away at home on January 6, 2026.

Eric grew up in Severn, where he attended Glen Burnie High School, proudly graduating with the class of 1990. He subsequently obtained an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronic, Computer and Telecommunications Technology. During and after school, he worked at a local Fire and Flood Restoration company in various positions.

An enthusiastic member of the APA pool league, Eric and his dad found joy and camaraderie shooting pool. Additionally, Eric embraced the thrill of outdoor activities, delighting in biking, skateboarding and snow skiing. These hobbies not only reflected his adventurous spirit, but also provided him with moments of freedom and exhilaration.

Eric suffered a long period of illnesses relating to his heart. He underwent multiple open heart surgeries resulting in his untimely death.

Eric is survived by his devoted parents, Barbara Jean and Maurice Martin Rodey; and many extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved brother, Timothy M. Rodey who passed in 2008.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A. in Glen Burnie. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday at 1pm, in the funeral home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County at https://aacspca.org/
