Eric Spitzner Obituary
April 25, 1943 - January 18, 2025
Eric Clinton Spitzner, 81, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
Eric was born to the late William and Marjorie (Johnson) Spitzner on April 25, 1943 in Branford, CT. Eric graduated from Branford High School in 1961, went into the Navy working in the Polaris missile program on aircraft carrier ships and submarines until 1971. He graduated from Quinnipiac University in 1974 and worked there as a computer programmer for over 30 years.
Eric was an avid sailor and loved being on the water. He owned several sailboats and even planned a voyage across the Atlantic, which he unfortunately was unable to complete. He was loved by all that knew him, and took life one day at a time, appreciating all he had along the way. He loved his family and was affectionately known as "Popeye" to his 3 grandchildren.
Eric is survived by his daughter, Courtney (Ryan) Walton of Wallingford, CT and his brother, Kurt Frederick Spitzner of Georgia. He leaves behind his 3 grandchildren, Charlie, Sam and Hannah who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Wallingford Funeral Home.

I AM SORRY TO HEAR OF ERIC´S PASSING. I WORKED WITH HIM AT QC....HE WAS VERY SMART AND A PLEASURE TO KNOW. I WOULD HAVE HONORED HIM AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH BY ATTENDING HIS SERVICES. MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
