Eric Taylor

Eric Dale Taylor, of Caro, age 64, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2026, at the Sanilac County Medical Care Facility. He was born on March 15, 1961, in Flint, the son of the late George and Jane (Lerche) Taylor. Eric attended Lakeville High School and proudly served in the United States Navy.

He enjoyed sports, especially football and baseball, and played baseball in his younger years. Eric also loved playing board games and was an excellent chess player. He could often be found taking walks around town and never missed the chance to buy a scratch-off lottery ticket. Eric was known for keeping to a schedule, maintaining a positive attitude, and appreciating the simple routines of daily life.

Eric leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings, Michael Taylor, Kathleen Taylor, Leonard Taylor, Mary Austin, and Maurice (Michelle) Taylor; brother-in-law, David Hittle; nieces and nephews, Terri, Chris, Adren, Livi, Tina, Stefan, Mary D., Colleen, Kendra, Maya, Ryan, Anneliese; several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Eric was preceded in death by his brother, Hal Taylor; sister, Ruth Hittle; and nephew, Brandon.

Eric’s funeral service will be on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Ransford Funeral Home in Caro with the burial following at Smith Hill Cemetery in Otisville. The family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service.
