Eric Van der verren Obituary
Captain Eric Van der verren, 70, of Dawsonville passed away Monday, July 17, 2023. Born March 21, 1953 in Brussels, Belgium, Eric was an International 767 Pilot for United Parcel Service.
He was an avid reader, with enough books to fill a library. He also had a passion for sailing, aviation, lighthouses and rescuing German Shepherds. Eric had a wicked sense of humor, with a lot of salty language.
Generous to a fault, Eric loved helping both his family and many friends.
Eric is survived by his wife of 40 years, Teresa Van der verren; a son, Jason Van der verren; two grandsons, Tristan Van der verren, Landon Van der verren and their mother Tonya Van der verren, and a brother, Ronald Van der verren.
Papa (Eric) was an exceptional grandfather, he took pride in guiding the boys through life and school. All his extra time was spent helping out at Pinecrest Academy to support the children.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 29, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the German Shepherd Dog Rescue of Georgia at www.gashepherd.org.
