Erik R. Pote

Erik R. Pote, age 53, of Lebanon, ME, formerly of Tewksbury and Wilmington, passed away at home on February 16, 2025, from injuries sustained in an accident.
Erik was born in Winchester, MA, on September 4, 1971; he was the cherished son of Marie H. (Hersom) and the late Ira "Tom" Pote of Wilmington. Erik was raised in a large and loving family; he attended Wilmington Public Schools and was a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1990. Erik loved sports; as a kid he played youth hockey, little league baseball, and pop warner football, when he got to high school, he played hockey for the Wilmington Wildcats earning his spot as Captain of the team in his senior year. Erik made many life-long friends through his sports and school activities.
After graduating from High School, Erik went on to attend the New England Fuel Institute where he learned about oil burners and boilers. Erik worked as a burner and boiler technician for several years before taking a position in the construction field with the Scire Construction Corporation in Woburn and more recently he was working at Express Excavation in Billerica. Erik was a great employee, hardworking, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile to get the job done. He made many friends with his co-workers as well as his bosses throughout the years.
When not working or taking on a house project, Erik looked forward to the time spent with his family. There were countless family cookouts, parties, holidays, family vacations, and "Tuesday night dinners" at the family homestead. Erik was a devoted dad, son, brother, uncle, and more recently he became a "Grumpy" to his grandson who he adored. The Pote house was always full of fun, laughs, family banter, and a lot of love. Erik would do anything for his family, no questions asked.
Erik will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his incredible work ethic, and for his unconditional love and devotion to his family and friends. His untimely passing has left a huge void, but he will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Erik was the devoted father of Brandon Pote and Hayley Pote both of Wilmington, loving "Grumpy" of Carter Thomas Pote, beloved son of Marie and the late Ira "Tom" Pote, former husband and friend of Lisa Pote of Wilmington, dear brother of Ira T. "Tom" Pote, Jr. and wife Paula of Wilmington, James A. Pote and wife Julie of Hudson, MA, and Nancy M. Cassidy and husband Rob of Wilmington. Special Uncle of Darrin and fiancé Emma, Thomas, Lennox, Teagan, Lia, Brady, Rachael, Samantha, Alyssa, Ericka, Max, and great-nephew Casey. Erik is further survived by a large and loving extended family of aunts, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends are welcome to gather for a Funeral Service on Saturday, February 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Abundant Life Church, 173 Church Street (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA.
