Erika was born in Rotenburg a.d. Fulda, Germany on May 21, 1938, to Heinrich and Mathilda Beisheim. Her sisters Ruth and Marianne, who were were older, helped raise her. After the war, Ruth met and married Bill Hoskins, an American G.I., and moved to Washington State in 1947. In 1958 they invited Erika to their home for a visit. She liked it so much she stayed for an entire year. When she returned to Germany, she got a job in Frankfurt, working for an American newspaper called The Overseas Weekly. She met LeRoy in Frankfurt in 1959. They fell in love and married in Stewart, Minnesota in 1961. There, and later after moving to Burnsville, Minnesota in 1970, they raised their three children, Erik, Mark, and Julie.
Erika worked at Faith Covenant Church in Burnsville as a Secretary for 22 years, where she met some of her best friends. Erika and LeRoy were very active in the church, participating in many small groups and bible studies.
Erika grew up playing cards with her dad in Germany, and her love of the game continued throughout her life. She loved playing Bridge and was quite good at it. Erika and LeRoy enjoyed socializing and traveling with friends and family.
Erika's greatest joy was her family; we all benefited from the love she showed us. Her grandkids referred to her as "Oma", and they were her pride and joy. She shared her love of Jesus with them as they grew leaving a legacy that will last for generations.
Survived by loving husband of 64 years, LeRoy; sons, Erik (Tish), and Mark; daughter, Julie (Chris); grandchildren, Mason, Josie (John), Samantha (Jake), Jacob, Gabriel, Zachary, and Jena; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation and Celebration of Life service on Friday, March 28. Visitation at 10:00am followed by Celebration of Life at 11:00am. Faith Covenant Church, 12921 Nicollet Ave, Burnsville, MN.
