Shirley Ann Micek, age 90, of Elko New Market, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Joe, for 70 years and a beloved mother and grandmother. Described by others as sweet, loving, and selfless, Shirley touched many lives with
her warmth. She was born in Braham, Minnesota, on November 22, 1934, to Harry and Lois (Harriet) Peterson. Shirley married Joe, the love of her life on October 1, 1955, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Minneapolis. Together they raised 6 children. While raising her children,
Shirley worked as a real estate secretary for her husband Joe, and was an Extraordinary Minister and former President of the St. Charles Women's Club in Northeast Minneapolis. For many years, Shirley and Joe traveled the country in their motorhome experiencing many different
places. A country girl at heart, her favorite home was on the North Shore of Lake Superior. She enjoyed her flowers and especially loved her hummingbirds. Shirley shared her love through cooking and baking for others. Trusting that everything was in God's hands, her strong faith
guided her throughout life.
