Erika O'Brien passed away peacefully at the age of 50 on January 9, 2026. She was the daughter of Gaynor and Lawrence E. O'Brien Jr.

Erika was born with cerebral palsy; she taught many valuable lessons to those closest to her such as patience, humility, and compassion. Erika also leaves behind her brothers Michael and Jared O'Brien, who both loved her very much, as well as nephews, Michael Jr. and Leo, and nieces Jacqueline, Isla, and Ava O'Brien. Erika was predeceased by her grandparents, Lawrence and Dorothy O'Brien, and Harold and Lillian Palm, with whom she shared a close bond throughout most of her life.

Erika loved to dance, take rides with her mother on the golf-cart in New Silver Beach, and spending time with her friends and caregivers, particularly Rachel Ecker. Erika will be especially missed by her mother who was devoted to Erika throughout her life and never missed a weekend together. Erika was an angel that will remain in the hearts of those that had the blessing of loving and caring for her.

Visiting hours will be held at the Chapman Funeral Home 584 West Falmouth Highway (RTE 28A) West Falmouth on January 17, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Elizabeth Seton at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Community Systems Inc., 3 Cedarhill Park Dr., Plymouth, or online at communitysystems.org, an organization that brought much joy to Erika.
