Erin Helen Stephens, revered as a pillar of strength, love, light and undeniable positivity, passed away December 2, 2024. She was born July 22, 1966, the day a beautiful light, our mom came into the world. She was known for her loving spirit, generosity, and dedication to the children she worked tirelessly to keep safe and loved.
Erin will forever be loved by all who had the great honor of knowing her. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 31 Amazing years, John Stephens and her two beautiful daughters, she adopted 20 years ago, Sapphire and Amethyst Stephens along with her two handsome grandsons, Kaiden and Onyx Stephens.
She has joined and rest with her mother Betty McCabe and her father Leeroy McCabe, along with many other loved ones throughout her life. With a beautiful growing family tree, consisting of both blood ties and bonds formed by the heart, Erin touched hearts, far and wide and is cherished by many!
Among Erin's most significant accomplishments, was raising her two daughters she adopted in 2004. Raising two young girls while working full-time and going to college for her degree to become a child protective worker and make a difference every day! She also donated time to food banks, soup kitchens, churches, funraisers and more just to see other people smile. Amidst all the challenges Erin's compassion for others never waivered. She was always ready to lend a hand and offer a shoulder to cry on. Her legacy of one is one of unyielding love and dedication to her family and friends, even with a lot on her own plate, Erin was always prepared to listen and help in anyway she could even when sick and in pain, she never faltered in caring for her loved ones more than herself. Erin always looked at the glass half full, when asked how she was doing she'd reply "living the dream" with a smile, no matter the struggles she went through. She believed if you can manifest positivity and light, then it will find you in your darkest moments.
Erin's loss is deeply felt by her loving family and all those blessed to have known her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience, generosity, and love in those whose lives she's touched and future generations to come.
A celebration of life will be held at 12 PM on December 13, 2024 at Saint Francis Xavier Church on 4501 W. 5215 S. Kearns, UT 84118 and a mass will be held in honor of Erin at 11 AM before the celebration.

I worked in Erin´s building in Sandy DCFS. Erin always took on extra work shifts to keep the children safe. She always had a smile and positive attitude.
She watered plants and flowers and she would empty the soda can receptacle.
Erin brightened every space I saw her. She will be dearly missed.

Whenever I saw Erin in a meeting or at a function, I thought "Oh let's go, Erin's here!" We didn't speak a ton, but whenever I did it was a pleasure. I loved seeing her interact with her team and could tell that she was beloved by them and cared for them deeply. She always talked about her grandbabies and how much she loved them and prioritized spending time with them. She was so funny and kind. She'll be missed by so SO many.

Always "livin the dream" From the day I met her until the last day she left the office. What a wonderful spirit with the most positive attitude. She will be missed and forever loved.
