In Loving Memory of Ermilo Amador
With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Ermilo Amador, who departed this life on September 11, 2025, at 11:11 AM. Born on January 13, 1956, in San Matías Chilazoa, Oaxaca, Mexico, Ermilo was one of nine children of Pedro and Margarita Amador. He cherished his birthplace and embraced his heritage, lovingly passing on the traditions and values he grew up with.
Though he made California his home for over 50 years, where he met his wife, raised his children, and built a life with friends-Mexico always held a special place in his heart.
Ermilo proudly served in the military in Mexico before coming to Wasco at the age of 19. He lived in Wasco for 32 years and later made Shafter his home for 18 years.
He met his beloved wife, Vicenta Amador, in San Matías Chilazoa, and together they built a beautiful life and family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Vicenta; his five children, Pedro, Juan, Judith, Rosario, and Liliana; his brother, Macrino; his sisters, Delia, Delfa, and Eva; as well as many nieces, nephews, and his 17 cherished grandchildren.
Ermilo's greatest joy came from being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with love and stories. He often sang to them, his voice carrying the beloved songs Hermoso Cariño and Rascando la Pare, echoing the same love he had always shared with his children and wife.
In August 2025, cancer entered Ermilo's life and took him away from us far too soon. Through his illness, he never lost faith-he believed in God and trusted His will. A man of deep faith, Ermilo remained devoted to the Catholic Church and to his santos, San Matías and Juquilita, drawing strength and peace from his prayers until the very end.
Ermilo's heart belonged to the land. He loved working in agriculture, tending to his plants and crops, and found joy and peace in his garden. His greatest passion was growing roses, which he cared for with dedication and pride.
When he wasn't working the fields or nurturing his garden, Ermilo enjoyed listening to music, being surrounded by good company, and having a good drink to relax and enjoy his day. His family and friends will always remember his warm presence, his stories, and the way he made every gathering brighter with his smile and laughter.
Ermilo's legacy is one of love, hard work, faith, and devotion-to his family, his church, and the land he loved so much.
Prayer for Eternal Rest
Padre Celestial, te encomendamos el alma de Ermilo. Concédele el descanso eterno y deja que la luz perpetua brille sobre él. Dale paz y consuelo a su familia, y fuerza para seguir adelante.
