Erna Carol Krone passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025. She was born in Sevelten, Germany on April 14, 1932 to Clemens and Maria (Deters) Kloeker. She is survived by; her son Andrew Stukenborg (his wife Bridget, and their daughters Anna Catherine and Mary Claire); her son Matthew Stukenborg (his daughter Sarah Bosse (Luke) and son John Stukenborg and Nick Egbers); daughter-in-law Sheila Stukenborg (Charlottesville, Va)(her son Carl, daughter Taylor Weathers (Ryan), and daughter Rachel Montminy (Keith)); her great grandchildren Henry and Edith Bosse; sisters Irmgard Taphorn (Sevelten Germany) and Helga Thoben(Ludwig)(Oldenburg Germany), brother-in-law Georg Krone (Bakum Germany); and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

She is predeceased by her husband Heinz Krone (Bakum Germany), son George Stukenborg, brother-in-law Georg Stukenborg, sister-in-law Martha Stukenborg, sister-in-law Marcella Kollmer (Bakum Germany), husband Carl Stukenborg (father to George, Andrew and Matthew) and sister Maria.

Erna attended business school in Dusseldorf, Germany and Sullivan Business School in Louisville. She worked in law and was an administrator with Standard Oil in Dusseldorf. She came to the United States in 1960 and settled in Louisville to begin her new family life. She worked with several firms including The Celanese Co. and Capitol Holding, Inc. before embarking on a career in real estate with Century 21 and Paul Semonin Realtors. She enjoyed playing tennis and was a skilled ice skater having learned her craft on the frozen flatlands of Northern Germany. She was a member of St. Leonard Catholic Parish and the German American Club Gensangverein.

Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She also deeply cared about those in need offering her home to friends and family. She had many good friends throughout her life both professionally and socially and would always be there when a need arose.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the staff at Dominion Senior Living and Hosparus Health for the loving care they provided.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 3rd from 3:00 to 7:00 at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Rd. Louisville, Ky. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, September 4th at 12:00 p.m. at St. Leonard Church 440 Zorn Avenue Louisville, Ky. Burial to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Louisville, Ky. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to St. Leonard Catholic Church.
