Howard Cosby David, 94, of Louisville passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Baptist Health Louisville, with his wife and children at his side.

He was born on October 4, 1930 in Chattanooga, TN, one of six children born to the late Clyde M. Davis and Lorena Tallent Davis. His first wife, Dorothy Marie Davis; his son, Edward W. Davis; two step-children, Fran Dick and Garyl Croddy and his siblings, Bobbie Alley, Austin Davis, Milburn Davis and Charlene Snoddy preceded him in death.

Howard was a Chemist and Quality Control Manager for Devoe Paint which later became Celanese Coating and was a Navy Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict Era. Howard and his wife are members of Beargrass Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Barbara Ketterman Davis; his children Terry Davis (Ann) and Sharon Davis (Glenn); grandchildren, Brian Davis (Annie), Chris Davis, Natalie Willis (Chad), Lilly McGlone (Billy), Jason Davis (Lori) and Sarah Davis (George). He also is survived by Barbara's family; daughter, Jan Croddy; son-in-law, Terry Dick; grandchild, Terrianne Tremayne (John), and his sister, Joan Davis.

His Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Beargrass Christian Church, 4100 Shelbyville Road with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the church. Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews was entrusted with arrangements.
