Ernie will be missed by all who knew this wonderful, kind, happy gentleman! My family and I have had the privilege and pleasure of meeting Ernie a few years ago when our dear Aunt Lorraine moved to the same community as Ernie. He was one of the first residents to welcome her to the community/ neighborhood and so friendly. We played card games together and it was his idea to start the welcoming "getting to know you" and "starting mindful conversations" card games. We got him the card packs that he suggested and he happily shared these games, first with small groups to get to know residents better, and then he shared with the activities staff member to play with whole groups. This was a big hit and helped the interested residents to socialize and get to know more interesting information about each other. Ernie was amazing and kind to all! You´d often find him sitting outside in the sunshine (in his favorite spot) and with a smile. (He had the glowing tan from Florida!) He´d welcome all visitors walking into the building with a hello wave or with his beautiful smile. He also shared stories about his life while growing up, being in the service, his time cooking, and most of all his love for his family! He was so proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ernie was a friend to all ages and had very close friends in his community who he had special bonds with. We will miss Ernie very much and keep many happy memories of him in our hearts. We know that Ernie is smiling in Heaven and reunited with his loved ones. He will be with you all in spirit and watch over you with a smile. Sending you all peace and strength. Our thoughts are with you all. Sincerely, Marcy S. and family
