Ernest J. Brown, Sr. Mr. Ernest J. Brown, Sr. passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was ninety-one years old. Mr. Brown was born in Columbia, Mississippi. He was raised there and graduated from the Marion County Training School where he was a standout football and basketball player. He served our country faithfully in the United States Army and upon an honorable discharge, he settled in the New Brunswick, NJ area. He and his wife raised their young family in Somerset, NJ and Mr. Brown had a lengthy career with General Motors in Linden, NJ. He retired as a general foreman after 33 years of service to the company. He was a longtime member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located on Highland Avenue in Somerset. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and an automotive enthusiast. He was predeceased by his wife, Geneva Brown, and children: Ernest Brown Jr., Ealton Jeffery Brown, Janice Burns and Michelle Brown Thomas. He was also predeceased by his siblings: Houston Brown, Norfleet Bolton and Emma Rose Bolton. Mr. Brown is survived by his daughters Rose Ford and Theresa Brown, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, as well as two siblings - Jan Brown and Barbara Ann Arrington. Viewing will take place on Saturday April 27, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM. Remarks will begin at 10:15 and interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick.
