Ernest Lewis Causseaux, age 93, passed away August 8, 2024 in Tallahassee, Florida. Ernest was born on February 6, 1931 to Cecil Kenneth (CK) and Annie Victoria Ferrell Causseaux at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed two brothers, Kenneth and Wade Causseaux.
Ernest spent his childhood in Tallahassee, graduating from Leon High School in 1948. His family didn't have much money so he learned early how to work with his hands and fix things. He was a do it yourself type of person. He worked hard for everything he had. He virtually built his first car in high school and kept that mentality and drive throughout his entire life. He loved woodworking and always had some sort of "project" in the works at all times. Ernest and Carol shared a love for travel. After retiring, they traveled to destinations all over the world. Memories too numerous to count.
He worked at Maclay State Gardens as grounds keeper where he propagated new species of flowers still enjoyed in the park today. He then joined the Tallahassee Police Department in 1956 where he spent 26 years serving the Tallahassee community and later joined the Leon County Sheriff's Department. He spent the majority of his life serving and protecting the Tallahassee community.
Ernest is survived by his wife Carol, to whom they just celebrated their sixty sixth wedding anniversary August 2nd, his brother Wade, his son Rodney and his wife Milagros, his daughter and her husband Vicki and Bill Hendrix, multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
A Memorial Mass will be held August 17 at 1:00 pm at Good Shephard Catholic Church followed by a reception. The service will be live streamed. Ernest will be laid to rest at Oakland Cemetery with a small family gathering.

Sincere condolences to Mr. Causseaux's family. My parents (Hardy) moved to Tallahassee in 1969 just a few houses down from his family. In early 1970's my sister Kay and I even stayed with the kids Vicki, Sandra and Rodney one evening. Sweet and smart kids (scared and amazed me with that spider!) Years later my husband, daughter and I enjoyed tailgating at FSU games close to Kenneth Causseaux and wife with our neighbors (Price). Mr. Causseaux lived a long successful life. God bless his family. - Kathy Hardy Miklus
