Ernest Hepperle

Ernest Hepperle, 93, of Harrington Park, NJ, passed away on February 17, 2025, at Villa Marie Claire Hospice. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Ernest is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Marlene Joanne Hepperle; his children, James (Gigi), Stephen (Maryanne), David (Ingrid), Joanne, Carolyn (Tim), and Christopher; his grandchildren, Ryan, Victoria, Amanda, Christian, Charlotte, and Emma; and his great-grandchildren, Noelle and Aria. Born in 1931 to Ferdinand and Anna Hepperle, Ernest grew up in Guttenberg, NJ, alongside his brother, Ferdinand. He built a successful career as the founder and president of Marlene Embroidery, leading the company throughout its entire existence. Family was at the heart of his life, and he found great joy in cooking for his children and grandchildren. Ernest was also an avid reader, traveler, and fisherman, and he took great pride in once catching a 50-pound striped bass. A viewing will be held on Friday, February 28, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Barrett Leber Funeral Home, 48 Dean Drive, Tenafly, NJ. The funeral service and repast will follow on Saturday, March 1 at 11:00 a.m., at Community Church in Harrington Park, 1 Spring Street, Harrington Park, NJ.
