Ernest Drew Higham

Ernest Drew Higham, lovingly known as Ernie, graduated into the next life on September 27, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Ernie was born on May 28, 1960, in Ogden, Utah, to Edwin and Joanne Higham. He grew up in Ogden and Roy and graduated from Roy High School, where he was part of a close-knit group of friends affectionately known as the "Roy Boys." He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the San Bernardino Mission. Upon returning home, he met and married his eternal companion, Tammie Garfield. Together, they were blessed with five children. Ernie spent several years working in construction before starting a fulfilling career as a draftsman. He loved being involved in the Scouting program and proudly completed his Wood Badge training. During his children's younger years, he was active in the local soccer community and cherished those memories. In his earlier years, Ernie loved camping and being outdoors. Though his diagnosis with Myasthenia Gravis eventually made such activities more difficult, he remained devoted to his family and took great joy in attending his grandchildren and great-nieces' events. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Lowell Higham and Joanne Lois Kammeyer Higham; his in-laws, Earl J. Garfield and Vauna Joyce Lubeck Garfield; and two brothers-in-law, Michael Davidson and Steve Barrett. He is survived by his wife, Tammie, and their five children: Heather (Cameron) Moore, Jennifer (Thomas) Jenson, Andrew (Nicole) Higham, Kelly Ann (Chad) Thomas, and Zackery (Tabatha) Higham, along with 19 cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Cheryl Davidson, Patty (Greg) Hagelberg, Becky (Bill) Shaffer, Barbara (Scott) Snitker, and Ronnie (Natalie) Higham; as well as many dear brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 4,2025 at 12:00pm at the Clearfield North Stake Center, 151 N. 1000 W. Clearfield, UT 84015. Friends and family may visit with family on Friday, October 3rd from 6:00pm-8:00pm and Saturday from 11:00-11:30am at the church. Interment will be at the Clearfield City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Myasthenia Gravis foundation to help further the research for those struggling with this debilitating disease. The family also wishes to thank the kind staff at the University Hospital, especially the doctors and nurses of the Neurology Critical Care Unit.
