Ernest Kropidlowski Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 15, 2025.
Ernest "Ernie" Kropidlowski, age 79, of Stevens Point, passed away on December 11, 2025. Born on August 31, 1946, Ernie lived a life defined by love, loyalty, humor, and an unmistakable presence that will be deeply missed.
Ernie proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran in the United States Army from 1962 to 1968. During his service, he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant, becoming the youngest Staff Sergeant in the Army-an accomplishment he was deeply proud of and one that reflected his leadership, discipline, and dedication.
After returning home, Ernie went on to build a long and honorable career at Foremost Foods, where he worked in whey production and wastewater management for 30 years. He took pride in his work and believed strongly in showing up, working hard, and doing things right. He met Cindy in 1979 and they were married in 1981. The two had an amazing life together and shared many lasting memories.
Ernie was a super-funny jokester with a natural ability to make people laugh. Together with his wife, they were quite an entertaining pair. He was loving, loyal, kind, and genuinely liked by everyone lucky enough to know him. His presence was steady and comforting, and his energy filled a room in a way that made people feel welcome and at ease.
Music was a big part of who he was. He loved oldies, rock, country, and polka-and he really had some dance moves. He was a wiz when it came to music trivia. He was also an avid Green Bay Packer fan who rarely missed a game.
Ernie was the beloved son of Bernard and Florence (Garski) Kropidlowski, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving family; his wife, Cindy L. Kropidlowski; his daughter, Jo Anne (Kropidlowski) Ball; and his grandsons, Asher and Hunter Ball, who were the absolute light of his life. He is also survived by siblings, Kathy (Florien) Hintz and Marlene (Donald) Bellinger, as well as nieces and nephews.
Ernie shared close and lasting friendships with Kevin Bemowski and Leroy Simonis, whose memories and companionship meant a great deal to him.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring, with details to be shared by the family at a later time.
Though he is deeply missed, the love, laughter, and energy Ernie brought into this world will live on-in stories told, music played, dances remembered, and hearts forever changed by knowing him.
