Ernest “Ernie” W. Mancour, of Flint, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 87 years old.
Born October 5, 1938 in Hadley Township, MI he was the son of Gerald W. and Ruth Ellen (Watson) Mancour. Ernie was a 1957 graduate of Bendle H.S. and after graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving for 4 years. On October 24, 1959 he married the love of his life Norma Hensey in Flint and they enjoyed nearly 66 years together as husband and wife. Ernie loved golfing and was an all-around athlete throughout his life whether it was boxing, hockey or just about any sport. He also loved to be outdoors, whether it was working on his house, yard or spending time hunting (especially deer hunting) or fishing. He loved cars and enjoyed several that he had owned over the years and was quite proud of his 1967 Camaro SS. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Mancour; two daughters, Lisa Mouser and Christy Birchmeier (Jim Tomalia); four grandsons, Kyle Mouser (Kelsey), Cory Mouser (Rachel), Martin Birchmeier (Johanna) and Matthew W. Birchmeier; two great granddaughters, Abigail and Madison Mouser; one great grandson Calvin Mouser; one sister Madeline Lask; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Edward, Gerald and Carl and one sister Barb.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, MI 48507. Interment will take place at 1:30pm, Tuesday October, 21, 2025 in Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 10:00am until time of the service.
