Ernest William Miley

Ernest William Miley, "Ernie", passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 54. He was born on July 10, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan, Ernie, as he was affectionately known, lived a life marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his family and friends.
Raised in Southwest Detroit, Ernie's early years were filled with the sounds of music and art. He attended Southwestern High School, where he began to shape a life rich in community and creativity. As a young man, Ernie and his friends formed the SWAT team, not of law enforcement, but of Southwest Audio Technicians, channeling their passion for music in their neighborhood.
Ernie worked various jobs from security for MMA fights, bringing a sense of safety and order to high-energy events. His charisma and love for music led him to become a Disc Jockey, entertaining countless guests at parties with his infectious energy. For over nine years, Ernie dedicated himself as a produce stock clerk at Meijer's Grocery Stores, where his kindness left a lasting impression on both colleagues and customers.
Ernie's greatest love was his family. The beloved son of Barbara and the late Ernest Miley, he was also a loving fiancé to Carol Brosch for over 16 years. A dear father, Ernie is survived by his children Joshua Miley, Jacob Miley, Emily Brazelton, James Brazelton, Andrew Brazelton, and his stepchildren Justin (Hali) Brosch, and Corrin Brosch (Jake Parker). He was a cherished grandpa to Nathalia, Kaden, Nyles, Peyton, and Oliver. His siblings, Linda, Brenda, and the late Debbie, the late DeeDee, and the late Terry Miley, will remember their brother with fondness and deep love.
After moving to northern Michigan, Ernie discovered a new passion for the great outdoors. He relished every moment spent in nature, whether fishing or simply exploring, or enjoying the company of loved ones under the open sky. This love of the outdoors was a testament to his ability to find joy in life's simple pleasures. He was also known as a tremendous gamer He would game into the late hours with his son and other friends online.
Ernie's legacy is one of laughter, kindness, and his deep love for his family. He was a man who could light up a room with his humor and warm any heart with his affection. Those who knew him were touched by his generous spirit and his unwavering dedication to his family.
