Marjorie L. Miley December 29, 1949 ~ August 30, 2025
Marjorie Lou (Ryan) Miley, 75, of Sweetser, Indiana, passed away peacefully at Marion Health surrounded by family.
She was born on December 29, 1949, in Marion to Betty Lou (Merrill) Ryan and James Clifford Ryan, Jr. On September 2, 1977, she married the love of her life, Neil Miley, who survives her.
Marjorie was raised in Jonesboro and was a graduate of Mississinewa High School in 1968. She dedicated over 40 years of service at Marion General Hospital. She was known by colleagues and friends as a kind soul who treated everyone with compassion.
From a young age, Marjorie had a deep and lasting love for animals. Horses held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every opportunity to be around them. Throughout her life, she always had pets-most often dogs-who became her treasured companions. At home, she leaves behind her beloved dogs, Lou and Lily.
Family was everything to Marjorie. She adored her niece, Amie Pearson, and nephew, Ryan Brenneman, and especially cherished her six great-nephews, who lovingly called her "Aunt Margie". She never arrived without their favorite candy in hand, and the boys eagerly ran to the door to see what sweet treat she had brought them. Her presence was a source of joy, comfort, and unconditional love.
She enjoyed life's simple pleasures: going to the movies, wearing her favorite Eternity perfume, a cold Pepsi and listening to Elvis Presley. A treasured memory in her life was her visit to Graceland in Tennessee, which fulfilled a lifelong dream.
Marjorie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kindness and her simple, quiet nature. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Neil Miley; nephew, Ryan (Angela) Brenneman; nieces, Amie (Pat) Pearson, Dina Schipper, Christy Ferguson and Amy Brock; six great-nephews; brother-in-law and cherished friend, Dennis Miley; sister-in-law, Cathy Miley; lifelong friend and sister-in-love, Cindy Calobrace; cherished goddaughters, Melissa Scott and Kailey Simmons.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jamie (Ryan) Brenneman; her mother, Betty Lou Ryan; and her father, James "Jimmy" Ryan.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral and Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN 46952.
A graveside service to celebrate Marjorie's life will begin at 1:00 pm at Marion National Cemetery 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN 46953.
