Exeter, NH Ernest W. "Mitch" Mitchell, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on February 20, 2014. He was born on February 7, 1932 in Newport, RI, the son of the late Ernest B. and Hazelton (Sprague) Mitchell. He served in the United States Navy from 1951-1960. A resident of Exeter for the last 17 years, Mitch grew up in Block Island, RI, and formerly lived in Raymond for many years. He is survived by his wife Constance (Hood); five sons, Charles W., Russell E., Dennis S., Scott W. and Terry A.; a daughter Tasha Tarleton; and his former wife, Beverly Soule. A funeral service will be on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 1:00 PM, at the Raymond Baptist Church, 145 NH Rte. 27, in Raymond. Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Uncle Mitch you always had a smile to share and love to give . I remember when I was growing up My Dad Charlie "Bill" was at your house and we would spend time during the summer all the boys my sister Theresa and I would always have a great time together and you never got upset if we were goofing off always seemed calm and I thank you so very much for the love and great memories . I Love you and will always think of you as one of the greatest Uncles always.
