Ernest Lee Raney, son of the late Alva Raney and Jewell (Hayes) Suppes, was born December 9, 1931, in Tulare, California, and passed away November 23, 2024, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was 92 years of age.
Ernie grew up and attended school in Tulare, California. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War conflict. Ernie was a lifelong member of IBEW Local Union 124. He was an electrician and retired from Klemp Electric in Kansas City, Kansas.
Ernie met the love of his life, Ann (Peterson) Bradshaw, and they were united in marriage on April 15, 2000, in Norwood, Missouri. They enjoyed going dancing on Friday nights as long as their health permitted. Ann passed away on February 21, 2023. After Ann’s passing, Ernie moved to Gainesville, Missouri, to be near his son.
Ernie enjoyed woodworking and doing leatherwork. He made several saddles and purses over the years. He was also an avid gun collector.
Besides his parents and wife, Ernie was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Raney; two sisters, Dorothy Snavely and Wanda Hanks; one daughter-in-law, Delores Raney; one great-grandson, Justin Whiles; and one stepson, Terry Bradshaw.
He is survived by one son, Alvin Raney; two daughters, Sharon Beresford and her husband, Robert, and Myra Raney; one stepson, Greg Bradshaw and his wife, Jeanee; one sister, Ruby Snavely; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
