Ernest A. Razza, age 76 of Warwick, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Lombardi) Razza, to whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Ernest and Cleonice (Santilli) Razza. A graduate of Warwick Veterans Highschool, he went onto work as an Interior Painter, and opened his own company, Interior Painting by Ernie in 2004 where he worked until his retirement.
Ernie had a go getter attitude, he helped shape the lives of many students acting as Coach for the Girls Warwick Soccer Associate for 18 years and Apponaug Girls Softball for 20 years. He also loved to watch his favorite sports teams, the New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed the simple pleasures life had to offer, fishing, hunting, tending to his garden, and a good round of golf. His most cherished time however, was spent in the company of his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two loving daughters, Lonna Razza and Heather Razza; brother, Anthony Razza and his wife Debra; four grandpups, Bronx, Simba, Trane, and Cashew; one grand-bunny, Greyson; many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to join his Funeral Service on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 9:00AM from the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Rose and Clement's Church, Warwick. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to the Gianna Cirella Memorial Fund or the David A. Pushee Memorial Fund. Burial to take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

Ernie & I shared our first room together when we were born...Ernie July 24, Me July 25 1947....to add to that his Mom & my Mom also shared the same room to recoup from delivering us. Did it STOP there...NOPE! It was Baseball at the East Natick Ball Field, where we also shared memories at the Natick Jamboree- nope didn´t stop there either....Basketball every day riding our bikes to Rudy Nardella´s house....did it stop there, NOPE! Playing baseball for DiCarlo´s Cafe and Brass Rail...did it stop there NOPE! Playing the Italian game called Fingers at the DB Club and DiCarlos who are toughest opponent was Mousie. Did it stop there Nope! For many many years we - shared New Years Eve together with teammates then girlfriends or wives....did it stop there? NOPE I am in Canada on the Niagara Falls side and my then wife Jan and I go to the casino - we were playing slots and heard a very familiar voice near by so I went to investigate...who was it? Yep Ernie and Ellen - what were the odds on that one. Going to Coventry to play basketball against Bakerville section (near Read Avenue and the entire team going in Ernies car to include the trunk which is where I was and Ponti, and Richard Moretti , who are now all together. To the Classic Cafe where after playing baseball against Jimmy Birchfields team we stayed to eat and then play some fingers - Beer and Shots were the prize...Ernie had the bartender switch my shots to water and never knew the difference...Ernie laughing so hard because I didn´t notice let me in on it....was too far gone to notice. I could go on and on Ernie was one of my dearest and long time friend and he got his haircuts from when I open my shop on East Ave in 1979 to my final cuts in 2023 - Ernie was at my wedding and caught the bouquet and it was my sister who he had to put that flower on her leg. I could write a book on memories share with Ernie. My sincere condolences to Eleanor, Lonna, Bev, Tony and all Family and many of his friends....he was a special guy to many of us and will be remembered by all of those who´s lives he touched - Rest In Peace my friend and hope to see you once again when it´s time....

Sending my deepest condolences for your loss. Ernie was my favorite softball coach and I learned so much about being a part of a team and compassion and love for others from him. He treated us like we were family and I´ll never forget his dedication and care for all of us.
