Ernest Simer

Ernest Simer, of Centralia, IL, passed away on Friday, December 20th, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born on Wednesday, June 25th, 1952, in Centralia to Elmer Hull and Hattie (Hawkins) Simer.
Ernest proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy for four years. After his honorable service, he built a fulfilling career at the Hollywood Candy Company in Centralia where he worked diligently for many years.
He leaves behind his companion of 40 years, Linda Kane, of Centralia; brothers, Rich Simer and Raymond Simer, both of Centralia and several nieces and nephews.
Ernest was proceeded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers.
The Simer family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends and neighbors during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family in Ernest's name.
Per Ernest's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and no public services will be held at this time.
