Fay (Nanny) Nell "Nanny" Simer

Mrs. Fay (Nanny) Nell Simer, age 88, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas, passed away Friday, June 27, 2025. She was born on June 5, 1937, to Jewel Novella Horn and Lester Noel Foreman, in Odgen, Arkansas.

Fay passed away in her sleep in her room, which she had decorated with pictures of her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews in hopes that she would pass away in her sleep. Her family was by her side.

Fay was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and aunt. She was a very strong, independent, sweet, and loving person.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George William Simer; one daughter, Mary Ellen Reed; two sons, George Burl and David Mitchell Simer, and one great-granddaughter, Laken Cauley.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Sandra Simer of Arkinda, Arkansas; one son-in-law, Steve Reed of Mt. Carmel, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Ashley (Mary) Jones of Rockwall, Texas, Beth (Chad) Cauley of Foreman, Arkansas, Jason (Candy) Tipton of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Eric (Victoria) Reed of Magnolia, Arkansas, Michelle Young of Foreman, Arkansas, Crystal (Jason) Smith of Umpire, Arkansas, Donna Bonjour of Arkinda, Arkansas, Linda Velastegui of Foreman, Arkansas; her great-grandchildren, Riley Bentley, Ivan Rincon, Landon Cauley, Hayden, Beauden and Camden Reed, Carsey and J.D. Young, Mackay and Maclane Smith, Tatyana and Nigel Bascue, Tillye and Angela Olivella, Xander and Jax Velastegui and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Simer will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at First Southern Baptist Church in Crossroads, Arkansas, with Audie Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in Blackland Cemetery in Foreman, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2025, at the funeral home.
