Ernest James Stanfield, a beloved member of the Tyson community, passed away on June 9, 2025, at Evans Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. Born on March 11, 1948, in Glennville, Georgia to J.E. and Vina Lee Morgan Stanfield, Ernest lived a life he was proud of.
A proud graduate of the Glennville High School Class of 1966, Ernest spent 31 years working in his family's business, Stanfield Timber, where he was known for his selflessness and tireless dedication. He approached every task with a sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
In addition to his career, Ernest was an avid outdoorsman, embracing his love for hunting and fishing. He was a valued member of the Shady Hammock Hunting Club and the Piney Woods Coon Hunting Club, where he enjoyed sharing many memorable adventures with friends and hunters known as "Hog Catcher". Moreover, his faith played an integral role in his life as a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he found community and fellowship.
Ernest was not only defined by his career and hobbies but also by his unwavering commitment to helping others in need. His selfless nature and willingness to lend a hand made him a cherished friend and neighbor. Above all, he took immense pride in his family, considering them his greatest accomplishment.
Ernest James Stanfield leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and commitment that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His unique spirit will be missed greatly in the hearts of many.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Juanita Horne, Charlotte Speer Long, Jeanette Kicklighter and Larry Dean Stanfield.

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, special friends including, Larry Bland and fur babies, Jesse, Jacey and Ty Ty.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Brannen Family Funeral Services. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the chapel of Brannen Family Funeral Services with Rev. Doug Wiesel officiating. Burial will follow in the Stanfield Family Cemetery.
