Ernest Conway "Connie" Stanfield Jr.

Ernest "Connie" Conway Stanfield, Jr., age 74, of Lexington, husband of Patricia "Patty" Lynn Keltner Stanfield, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2026. He was born in Ewing in Fleming County, Kentucky on April 22, 1951, the son of the late Dorothy Thomas Stanfield and the late Ernest Conway Stanfield, Sr. Ernest was retired from Keeneland after 25 years of service.

Besides his wife, he is survived by: five children, Daniel (Melinda) Stanfield, Ernest (Bridget) Stanfield, Nancy Stanfield (Jeff) Hanley, Melvin (Tori) Stanfield, and Joshua Keltner; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Stanfield and Linda Goodkins; and a brother, Billy Stanfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his first wife, Annabelle Smoot Stanfield; and siblings, Judy Olson, Sarah Stanfield, Ollie Vance, and Donnie Stanfield.

Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Road. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Ernest Wayne, Steven, Shawn, Daniel Jr., Ernest, Josh, and Jeffery. Honorary pallbearers will be the Keeneland Race Team.
