Ernest George Treutlein, 68, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 13th, 2023 with the love of his life and family by his side.
Ernest was born April 1, 1955 in Maspeth Queens New York. He was born to late Ernest and Kathleen (Sherry) Treutlein. He joined the Navy at the age of 18 and served his country for 4 years. After leaving the Navy Ernie came to Winchester Indiana and that's where he met the love of his life Vickie!
Ernest lived a great life of serving people with passion. He served in the US National Guard, worked as a Randolph County Sheriff Deputy, was a volunteer firefighter with the White River Township Fire Department, served as a 4-H shooting sports instructor, Indiana hunter educator, was a member of the Farmland Conservation Club, and worked as an insurance adjuster for Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance for many years. He loved his family and always put them first. Ernest enjoyed doing new things and seeing new things. In his travels he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and he even acquired his private pilot's licenses. He was a skilled builder and had love for reading even reading the whole dictionary and the encyclopedia and countless books!
He leaves behind a beautiful loving wife Vickie (Thornburg) Treutlein of 45 years; a son, Phillip (Meagan) Treutlein and 5 wonderful grandkids who loved him dearly, Laramie, Lukas, Lane, Tanner and Cecil. A very special cousin that was near and dear to Ernie's heart Bill Heffernan.
