Our Beloved Ernestine Frederick was called to eternal life on February 22, 2022 at New Vista Hospital in Newark, NJ. She was born on May 22, 1930 in Freeman, VA to the Late Michael and Georgia Callis Walker. Seven siblings preceded her in death: a twin brother Ervin Walker, Theodore (Bow), Daniel (Bee), James Allen (Jake), John Walker, Leola Walker Kelly, and Ollie Walker.
Ernestine attended Scott Lewis Elementary School in Freeman, VA, and James Solomon Russell High School in Lawrenceville, VA. As a child she was a member of New Hope RZUA Church (Reformed Zion Union Apostolic Church).
Ernestine married Charles Jackson, Sr. of Thomasburg, VA (Deceased). To that union (3) three children were born, Charles Jackson, Jr. of Lawrenceville, GA, Thomas Jackson (Boo) (Deceased), and Seresa Jackson (Deceased). In December 1960, she gave birth to her third son James Ervin Moore Jr. (Dick) of Walkertown, NC, whom Grandma Georgia as her own.
In the early 1960's, Ernestine moved to Newark, NJ. She touched the lives of many of her co-workers where she worked at Hartz, a company that made food and toys for animals. She worked on the assembly line for 25 years, and retired in 1991. She remarried in June 1991 to the Late LeRoy Frederick.
Ernestine's hobby was sewing, she made most of her clothes. She also loved playing cards, Bingo, going to casinos and dog races.
Ernestine's favorite color is RED. She always had a Big Beautiful Smile on her face. Her favorite saying was "I Don't feel no pain; God was good to me!" Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, no crying, nor pain anymore. Her final words were "How old am I? 91!!! I feel no pain. God was good to me! Praise the Lord!"
Ernestine was a faithful church member. She attended Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Elizabeth, NJ, Dr. Elton T. Byrd (Pastor).
Ernestine leaves to cherish her loving memories and mourn her home-going: (2) two sons, Charles Jackson, Jr. of Lawrenceville, GA and James (Karen) Moore Jr. of Walkertown, NC; (1) one brother, Curtis (Joyce) Walker of Rocky Mount, NC; (2) two sisters, Fannie Broughton of Roselle, NJ and Dorothy Satterfield of Irvington, NJ; (2) two sisters-in-law, Iola Walker of Brooklyn, NY and Betty Walker of Newark, NJ; a niece, Rosa Walker Crenshaw; (10) ten grandchildren, Doshawn Jackson and Ashante D. Jackson who she raised as her own children, Pamela Jackson, Charles Derek Jackson III, Tajunna Jackson, Yvette Jackson-Downs, Thomas Darrell Jackson, Jr., Deborah Jackson, Collette Jackson and James Moore, Jr.; 22 great grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren; a very dedicated friend, Matilda Foreman (Bonnie) of Newark, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
