Ernie Willis Clevinger

ERNIE WILLIS CLEVINGER, 89, of Bastian, VA, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, at his home following a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Turrel and Alice (McClanahan) Clevinger. He was a longtime resident of Buchanan County and was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and was a disabled coal miner. He enjoyed carpentry and working with his hands.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Danny Clevinger three brothers, Virgil Clevinger, Estel Clevinger, Herb Clevinger; Sister, Loviss Matney; four Sister-in-law Violet Clevinger, Evon Clevinger, Emogene Clevinger, Evelyn Clevinger.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 68 years Juanita (Looney) Clevinger of Bastian, VA; Daughters: Teresa (Jeff) Elkins, Bastian, VA, Tammie (Earl) Lester Jr. Conaway, VA; Son: Denny (Diane) Clevinger, Bastian, VA; Brothers: Amil Clevinger, Vernal Clevinger, Larry Clevinger, Emil Clevinger; Sister: Ann Stiltner; Grandchildren: Misty (Brian) Bush; Selina Danielle (Matt); Ben (Amber); Ethan (Lexi); Sylvia (Tim), Denny Jr. (Alexis) Clevinger, Heather Viers; great-grandchildren: Zac (Mimi) Justus, Natasha (Jamie), Kyla (Codey) Harville, Ethan Lester Jr.; great-great grandchildren: Danny Lee, Gaberiel, Samuel Justus, Emma Leah, Rylana, Danie Jackson, Josie Justus, Bryson Harville.

Also, survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Bethlehem Old Regular Baptist Church Thursday evening at 6:00 P.M. with song services at 7:00 P.M.

Funeral Services for ERNIE WILLIS CLEVINGER will be held Friday July 18, 2025, at Noon at the Bethlehem Old Regular Baptist Church, Poplar Creek, VA, with home preachers and Willima McClanahan officiating with burial to follow in the Stiltner Family Cemetery at the Church.

Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
