Ernie Lothamer

Ernest Lee Lothamer Jr., 81, of Ft. Wayne, IN, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026.

Born on June 24, 1944, Ernest was the beloved son of Ernest Sr. and Rose Lothamer. He grew up in Ft. Wayne, attending Central Catholic High School.

Ernest's true passion in life was his family and his love of having all of his friends and family over for cookouts. His hobby that brought him so much happiness was restoring his garden tractors and building things for the house and his kids. He was known for his simple way of breaking down life's challenges and having a warm place for everyone.

Ernest is survived by his devoted partner, Karen Bennett; his sister, Carol Ladouceur; his loving children, Monte (Honor), Phil (Renee), Glen, Janine Namelka (David); and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Divine Mercy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a local community fund in Ernest's memory.

He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love, strength, and joy he brought to those around him.
