Erron Downs Obituary
Erron Leiloa Ha'o Downs was born July 15, 1946 in Honolulu, HI to Marie Tehoa Maka'awa'awa and Winstead Ka'apunihonua Ha'o. Later Marie married George Newton Carson whom Lei called Dad. She graduated from Morse High School in San Diego, CA and married her sweetheart Lawrence Charles Downs in 1964. They raised seven children: Scott (Susie), Sandy (Jeanie), Christine Western (Tim), David (Michelle), Leslie Northam (Jay), Matt (Mandy), and Jennifer.
Lei and Larry had many adventures raising their family in San Diego, CA and Farmington, UT including camping, fishing, riding motorcycles, taking road trips, scuba diving, and more. Lei loved to cook for her family and friends and they all felt so much love from her meals. She volunteered much of her time helping students at her children's schools and serving others through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lei also loved her Hawaiian heritage and culture which she happily shared with anyone who asked.
Lei is preceded in death by her parents Marie and George, her father-in-law Larry, her husband Larry, her children David and Leslie, and her brother-in-law Bob Carroll.
She is survived by her brother Alejo Ha'o (Anika), children: Scott (Rigby, ID), Sandy (Snowflake, AZ), Christine (Salt Lake City, UT), Matt (Elko, NV), and Jennifer (Salt Lake City, UT), sisters-in-law Darlene Carroll and Pat Juberg, nieces Debbie Ramirez (Gelacio), Donna Williams (Doug) and Denise Forster (John), nephew Alejo Ha'o (Jessica), niece Leiloa Tufaga (Louie), 32 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Lei is grateful for each person who connected with her. Your connections made a difference in her life. Please continue to reach out and connect with others, it matters, it helps, it improves lives!
A Celebration of Life will be held August, 13, 2022.
