Muehlebach Funeral Care - Kansas CityErvin Joseph Dreiling, 94, passed away September 7, 2025 with his family by his side. Erv was born March 3, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri to Alexander and Regina (Vogt) Dreiling. He spent his childhood there, moved for a period of time to the family farm in Victoria, Kansas, before his family settled in Kansas City, Missouri.
Erv attended Bishop Lillis High School and Redemptorist High School where he played football, basketball, and baseball. At one of the Friday night dances he met the love of his life, Nancy Elwell. They were married February 23, 1952 and welcomed three children. Erv served in the US Army during the Korean war and after that began his apprenticeship in the printing industry. In 1963 Erv started his own printing company, Trojan Press, Inc., with Nancy by his side.
Erv and Nancy not only built a family and a printing company, but they also built 6 houses (including two lake houses)! Erv enjoyed traveling the world, golfing, hunting, fishing, and enjoying time with family and dear friends.
Erv was preceded in death by his father & mother, Alexander & Regina (Vogt) Dreiling, and his sister Estelle Yonkos. Erv is survived by his wife Nancy, and his children Steven (Kathy) Dreiling, Annette (Gary) Cridlebaugh, and Jeffrey (Jeanne) Dreiling. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and his brother Edward Dreiling.
All services will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish, 14251 Nall Ave, Leawood, KS 66223, on Thursday, September 11th. Visitation will begin at 10am, with the Rosary prayed at 10:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am. Private entombment at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Basilica of St. Fidelis, 601 10th St, Victoria, Kansas 67671 in honor of Erv.
