Ervin Mason, beloved minister, teacher, father, and friend, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the age of 79.
A man of deep faith and unshakable conviction, Ervin devoted his life to serving both God and his community. As a Methodist minister for 20 years, he spoke with eloquence and compassion, offering words that uplifted hearts and stirred minds. His sermons were not only scripture but also philosophy, woven with insight, poetry, and often stories of his children and family life.
Beyond the pulpit, Ervin was a high school English teacher at Russell County High School, in Russell Springs, Kentucky. He believed in the transformative power of knowledge and challenged his students to think deeply, question boldly, and live with integrity.
Those who knew him will remember his presence as steady, thoughtful, and kind. He carried wisdom in his words, warmth in his smile, and grace in his actions. His legacy is one of faith, intellect, and love that is passed on to the countless lives he touched.
Ervin Heath Mason II is survived by his son, Ervin Heath Mason III (Christy); daughter, Keturah Jeanette Haslacker (Dwight); grandchildren, Asher Horn, Haden Horn, Bianca Reynolds, Dwight Haslacker Jr., Cierra Haslacker; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Painter, Myles Mckinzie; sisters, Candace Revelette (Alan), Renee Hobbs; and brother, Scott Mason.
