Martha Spurling Lehan, age 87, of Gallatin, went to be with her Lord and savior on Sunday, September 7, 2025. She was born on March 4, 1938, in London, Kentucky.
Martha was a woman of strong faith, who was very involved with her church families. Over the years, College Heights and Southside Baptist Church offered her great fellowship in her walk with the Lord.
Martha loved her family and friends dearly. She had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains; she was known to many as “Spunky.” Martha also admired the beauty of flowers and was truly delighted by flower gardening. When she was no longer able to tend to plants herself, she gifted flowers for others to garden.
To know her was to love her; even in her final days, Martha left a lasting impact on those around her. Her memory will be cherished, and she will be dearly missed by many.
Martha Belle Spurling Lehan is survived by her brother, Kenneth House; nieces, Carolyn Key (James), Linda McKnight (Tim), Shelly Warren, Cheryl Woodby (Bob) of Manchester Center, Vermont; nephews, Kenny House (Lori), Michael House (Patty), Kenny Warren; great-niece, Wendy Cripe (Nate); along with many more great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Carl Spurling; father, Lewis Earl House; mother, Mava (Cornett) House; brother, Earl House (Jonelle); sister, Lee Warren (Mac); and sister-in-law, Judy House.
A graveside service in honor of Martha Spurling Lehan will take place at Crestview Memory Gardens, on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. Bro. Jeff Lake will be officiating. Her Nephews and great-nephews will serve as pallbearers.
