Ervin Leroy Young, father, grandfather and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026. His life was marked by dedication, hard work, and a quiet passion for the people and activities he loved.
He was born on December 4, 1932, in Lakeland, Florida, to the late Foy and Hallie Young.
Leroy proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years. After serving in the army, he worked for Lakeland Battery and Auto and then went to work for the Lakeland post office. Leroy relocated his family to Warner Robins and dedicated 25 years of his professional life to civil service at Robins Air Force Base. Following his retirement, he worked at Merck and then at H&R Block.
Known for his strong work ethic and friendly spirit, Leroy also enjoyed an active life outside of work. He was an avid golfer and bowler, hobbies that brought him great joy and many lasting friendships over the years.
Leroy will be remembered for his dedication to service, his love of sports, and the quiet strength he showed throughout his life.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Kenneth Ervin Young (Sharon) and Karen Wrenn (Steve); brother, William Young; grandchildren, Kyle Young, Sonya Hall (James), and Shannon Bosarge (J.P); great granddaughter, Abigail Shaner; and companion of 40 years, Teddy Nassemer.
