Lido J. Gori Sr., of New Rochelle, New York, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025. He was 90 years old. Born in the Bronx to Ambrosina and Ernani Gori, Lido was one of two children. He graduated from Saint Raymond’s High School in the Bronx, where he began building the foundation for a full and devoted life.
Lido would later meet his beloved wife, Carmella Sambrato. The couple married and settled in Pelham Manor, New York, where they raised their three children together. They were married for 68 years.
Lido worked in the construction industry as a tile setter for more than 50 years. Known for his strong work ethic and love for his craft, he took pride in every job he completed. Above all, Lido valued family. He spent countless hours enjoying time with loved ones, and his greatest joy came from being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lido will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend. He will be dearly missed, but his family finds comfort in the many treasured memories he leaves behind.
Lido is survived by his brother Felice; his wife Carmella; his children Lido Jr. (Teresa), Susan (Jack), and Robert; his grandchildren Christopher (Maria), Lido (Kayla), Matthew (Kelly), Marissa (Matthew), Rachel (Jessica), Skyla, Cristina, and Dante; and his great-grandchildren Alessia, Francesca, Lido, Arianna, and Matthew.
Lido is pre-deceased by his parents and grandson, Michael.
A celebration of Lido’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham, New York, on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham Manor. Interment will follow at Saint Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx.
