ANNA GOBESSI GORI
Passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024. Beloved wife for over 65 years of Gio Batta Gori; cherished mother of Caterina (Edward) Earle and Aurelius (Grace) Gori; dear grandmother of Edmund, Arthur, John, and Julia, and happy great-grandmother of Cassian. Anna was born on November 23, 1928, in the northern Italian town of Tricesimo. She obtained her doctoral degree in biological sciences from the University of Rome before emigrating permanently to the United States with her husband and daughter in 1961. She was proud to become an American citizen. Gentle and creative, Anna loved animals and nature, music, and especially her family. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday January 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pumphrey Funeral Home in Bethesda, 7557 Wisconsin Avenue. Contributions in Anna's memory may be made to Second Chance Wildlife Center (www.scwc.org). Online condolences may be expressed at:

Dear Rex, We were deeply saddened by the news of your mom's passing. She was a great lady and an inspiration to us all. We know how much you loved her, and how much she loved and was proud of you, as are we. You have been a dear friend and we grieve for your loss and pray that you will be buoyed by the great love that she had for you.
We had hoped to attend your mom's visitation this evening, but John has pulled up lame. Hope to see you at the cabin when the weather clears.

So sorry to hear of Anna's death. I'm a good friend of her daughter Caterina and found Anna to be a wonderful lady. Hugs and prayers to the entire Gori family.
