Espiririon “SP” Santa Cruz of Taylor, TX passed away Friday April 18, at the age of 91.
SP was born in Waelder, TX to Pablo and Tranquilina (Perales) Santa Cruz. SP was the youngest of 9 children, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He served in the US Army where he learned his carpentry skills. He married Amalia Morales on Fe. 11, 1956 and were married 50 years, until her death in August 2006 and they had 2 children. They lived their entire married life in Taylor and were very involved running THE Hidalgo for many years but specifically managing the Taylor Braves baseball team for 30 or mor years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Luis, Alberto, Esteban, Tornasia, Migel, Mariana, Petra and Adelina. His wife, Amalia (20060, HIS SON Raymond Paul (2018).
He is survived by his daughter, Arleen (Husband Frank) Sanchez of Cedar Park, TX
Grandchildren; Ramon Santa Cruz, Alisa Garza (husband Ernest), Surgess Santa Cruz (wife Catrina), Natalie Cruz, Derek Sanchez (wife Kelly) and Matthew Sanchez.
7 Great Grandchildren; Amy, Surina, Cartur, Liam, Eric, Nathaniel, Isaac and one on the way.
3 Great-great Grandchildren; Miguel, Theo and Niko.
Visitation will be held on Thursday April 24, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12:00pm at Providence Funeral Home with the funeral serves following at 12:00pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Taylor City Cemetery in Taylor
