Estella Elizabeth Edge, fondly known as Betty to her loved ones, passed away on July 8, 2024, in Hernando, MS. She was born on June 15, 1946, in Ripley, MS, to the late William Crosby and Icie Ocie (Pannell) Jeter. Estella had a special bond with her siblings Tate Jeter, Henry Jeter, and Louise Jeter. She joined in marriage with James Edge and together they shared 37 beautiful years.
Betty's life was a tapestry of love, kindness, and grace. Her memories will forever echo with tales she shared of her childhood on a farm in Ripley. Anyone who had the privilege of crossing paths with her instantly fell under her spell of unwavering sweetness and optimism. Estella was a beacon of love wherever she went; her heart overflowed with compassion for everyone she encountered.
In addition to nurturing her relationships, Betty found joy in simple pleasures like sewing, playing cards, crocheting, gardening, and attending church with her family. But above all else, she treasured the role of a devoted mother and grandmother. Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her children Billy Edge (Jerri), Robin Hernandez, Robert Edge (Cyndi), Karla Davis (Shawn); her grandchildren Chasity, Erin, Jacob, Brooke, Hope Katelyn Hunter Monica Michael; great-grandchildren Destiny, Liliana, Harley, Lincoln, Rudy, Jude, Dalton, Trinity, and Aaliyah; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Betty faced her final days with unwavering strength and courage as she battled cancer. Despite the hardships she endured during this time, her spirit remained unbroken until the end.
She is survived by her loving brother Jerry Jeter and is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who were touched by her warmth and love.
