ESTELLA'S JOURNEY

Estella Schoolfield, daughter of the late Carrie Schoolfield and Charles "Sweet Coon" Schoolfield, was born in Pocomoke City, Maryland, on June 18, 1944. She departed this earthly life peacefully at home on November 17, 2025.

Estella was a beloved and active member of the Pocomoke community. A lifelong member of St. James United Methodist Church, she remained steadfast in her faith and dedication until her passing. She received her education through Worcester County Public Schools and attended Worcester High School. After graduation, Estella pursued her love for beauty and style by attending cosmetology school, where she became a talented hair stylist for many years.

Known for her radiant smile, warm spirit, and willingness to help others, Estella left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. She was always impeccably dressed-coordinated from head to toe-with an elegance and flair uniquely her own.

Later in life, Estella worked at Ames Department Store and Family Dollar in Pocomoke City. Many could always tell when she was on shift by the unmistakable sight of her large school bus parked outside. Estella proudly served as a school bus driver for the Worcester County Board of Education for twenty-one (21) years, safely transporting generations of local children.

Estella leaves to cherish her memory: her sister, Jeanette Hayman (Robert) of Pocomoke City, MD; her brother, Linwood Schoolfield (Shirley), also of Pocomoke City, MD and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her mother, Carrie Schoolfield; father, Charles "Sweet Coon" Schoolfield; sisters, MaryAnn Harmon and Margaret Jane Evans and brothers, Woodrow Schoolfield, Charles "Jack" Schoolfield, and Ernest Schoolfield.

Estella's kindness, elegance, and unwavering love for her family and community will be remembered always. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
