Esther Louise Chalberg, 85, passed away on March 13, 2024.

Esther, or Sam, as she was affectionately known by, was born on February 19, 1939 in Leavenworth, Kansas. It was while working for the NCO Club at Fort Leavenworth, that she met the love of her life, Larry Chalberg. After a brief courtship, they were married on October 17, 1964 and blessed with raising seven children. Esther took great pride spending many years caring for her family, before beginning her long career with the Jones Store, until she retired after 25 years. Larry and Esther enjoyed the wonderful memories they made with their family while traveling to numerous countries. She was also gifted with talents like decorating her home and tending to her flower gardens, and her inquisitive mind always loved reading, working on puzzles and coloring.

Esther is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eleanor Martin; son, Mark Horton; and sons-in-law, Phil Johannes and James "Jim" Plunkett. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her husband, Larry Chalberg; children, Derese Johannes, Sherri Plunkett, Paige (Jimmy) Ortery, Larry (Deena) Chalberg II, Tiffany (William) Foreman, and Nicole (David) Kell; grandchildren, Amber Cervelli, Andrea Plunkett, Alexandra Plunkett-Fitzgerald, Adam Plunkett, Baileigh Ortery, Ashley Rogers, Jessica Siercks, Taylor Foreman, Madison Foreman, Erin Raney, Jordan Garr, Allen Miller; great grandchildren, Aleigha Rogers, Abreighana Williams, Azalea Rogers, Kenzingten Siercks, Lincoln Siercks, Gatlin Raney, Buster Raney, Jackson Garr, Stetson Garr, and Wrenley Garr; and many extended family and friends.
